Parkway On-Street Multiuse Path Virtual Community Meeting
This project was identified in 2019 when removal of the traffic signals at Elm Street and Locust Street was evaluated. The opportunity to repurpose a portion of Parkway Street for active travel by non-motorists was identified. As staff evaluated needs within the corridor, the potential to install an on-street multiuse path, serving both bicyclist and pedestrian travel needs, was identified. This facility is proposed to be constructed using “quick-build” techniques, utilizing pavement markings and surface-installed materials like flexible bollards. The facility will provide near-term benefits as a complete and continuous facility on Parkway Street between Carroll Boulevard and Congress Street, expanding access to the trails within Quakertown Park.

The City will host the virtual community meeting to provide residents and property owners the opportunity to:
• Receive an overview of the Parkway On-Street Multiuse Path CIP;
• Receive an update on project scope, timeline, and expected impacts during construction; and
• Ask questions about the project.
